Stella's Video

I wanted to make sure and get this video on the blog as the blog has ended up being somewhat of a journal for our family.

Bragging

I just need to brag one eensy teensy bit. Jeff is an AMAZING Dad! I have never seen anyone as much in love as he loves his little girl. He was in the nursery today and after he bathed her, changed her diaper, dressed her, and swaddled her to perfection he puts her in her crib and then says loudly 'i just love her so much!' and then realizing he may have said it a little too loudly we both just started laughing. It's been a great experience learning how to take care of Stella together. I feel we make a good team. Jeff keeps telling me that I am doing a great job, but it's really because he is doing a great job himself. During the labor and delivery I wasn't in the best of spirits, but he never left my side. He didn't sleep a wink and he never wanted to leave to get any meals. His sole focus was the 'two girls in his life'.  There have been many MANY more little things that Jeff has done and too many to count, but Stella is one lucky girl to have a Dad that loves her so much and would do anything for her. I love you Jeff. You are an amazing person.

Welcome Stella! We love you!

I don't know how people post so many pictures. It was really hard for me to get the computer just to do these. Here's some cute ones of our precious Stella whom I adore.

Another Update

Hello! I don't know if you all have the most recent update. I don't like posting on facebook as I am friends with a lot of co-workers so the blog is easier and a little more private. Here is what is happening with the Adams and baby Stella/Isla.

Week 34 appointment my doc scares me by saying the baby is breech and that if she doesn't flip Doc will need to schedule an ECV procedure where they push on your tummy and manually try and flip the baby. She informs me this is painful and she would do it at week 38.

The next few days are miserable as I feel really nauseous and my kidneys hurt really bad not to mention that I am freaking out thinking that I will need to have this procedure done at 38 weeks and I am scheduled to work!

Due to the pain I think I have a kidney infection so I call the doc and she has me come right in. She tells me everything is fine, but the one difference is the baby has flipped and is now head down and possibly that caused the pain in my kidneys and the nausea.

So, cool. Baby head down, no kidney infection, everything shall proceed as normal and I can go back to work.

Week 37 check up the doc notices that the baby's head is now under my rib cage. I have been having a really hard time breathing lately and shooting pains really low under by belly button. I think she's kicking me and it literally makes my legs give out underneath me if I am walking. Now were back to where we were before. Baby is breech and needs to flip. Doc says at my next appointment Sept 5th, if baby has flipped they'll induce me, but I know the night before as I feel her head under my rib cage that that is not going to happen.

Sept 5th baby is still breech. Doc schedules me for ECV on Sept 10th. This means that if they get her flipped they'll induce me and I'll have the baby. If they can't move her then it's a C-section. (sarcastic hooray!) and I have the baby.

So either way our child will be joining us on Sept 10th. I have to go in Sunday to get blood drawn for the procedure and then I report to labor and delivery at 6am on Monday morning.

That is what has taken place in the last few weeks and I can't tell you how stressed I have been. It's so hard to figure out what to do with work when your doc tells you that you might have your kid two weeks early! As of now I have been on maternity leave since August 30th. My house is spick and span,  my bags packed, and the refrigerator stocked with food. Today I slept until 11 (don't judge me, I was up late too) and I still got all my errands done, took a nice shower, and cooked some brownies and dinner. I cannot believe how much time there is in the day to get things done. Now if I can only convince Jeff to take me to the cabin one last time before the season ends I will be officially relaxed!

Seriously?!

It's 12:30 in the morning and I have my hips propped up on a pillow trying to ensure the baby has every opportunity to flip. It really doesn't help with the constant indigestion and I keep throwing up in my mouth. TMI? Well this is really for me to read when I start to consider doing this again. It has been one horrible thing after the other and I gave r even delivered the baby yet. I am ging to try and get some sleep.... That would be a first! I thought the sleepless nights came after the baby was delivered!

An Apple

So last night Jeff woke up at 1am to find his 9 month pregnant wife on the floor next to his side of the bed laughing. When he asked me what I was doing I just laughed harder because I didn't know how to explain it. My indigestion has been really bad lately, so much that it keeps me awake and I almost throw up all the time. At about 12am I finally got up and grabbed an apple to try and get something in my stomach. I ate most of it off the core and then like I do with everything lately, I dropped it and it fell under the bed. Rowdy comes running out from under the bed where he usually sleeps and I realized the apple had rolled quite a ways.
Due to my belly I could NOT get under the bed to get that stinking apple! I couldn't just leave it because the dogs would get it and how do I wake up my husband at 1 am to tell him to get the apple under the bed? I decided to try from Jeff's side of the bed, but I couldn't reach. I laid down on my back and tried to reach it with my legs, but I couldn't! It was impossible with this belly! Eventually I just started laughing at the situation and that's when Jeff woke up. He got the apple and tucked me into the arm chair by the window to help my indigestion. He put my grandma's quilt around me and propped my feet on the ottoman. Did I marry a great guy or what?
I do not handle not being able to do things very well. Just ask Jeff. I was not in a good mood when I could not get that apple!

Update

Baby G. is doing great. She moves all the time and sometimes a little to rough for me. My belly is so tight I hit it into things and even have shut it in the car door a couple of times. I am very excited to be almost done with work. My last day there will be Sept 7th and then 3 months to focus on my family. I think I might go crazy. Jeff ended up having to work the day after the 4th of July which he was supposed to have off so I was home alone. I cleaned and I baked and ran errands, but it was SOOOOO boring staying home all day. I don't know how people do it. The heat has finally started to get to me. I was very moody last sunday because I started to put together the baby changing table and got really hot! Jeff came in and revealed that I had started it wrong which made me even angrier and I blamed him for messing me up. It MAYBE wasn't really his fault. MAYBE. But I had a good system going. Jeff and I will be taking a birthing class on August 10th. It's a 'weekend intensive' class that starts friday afternoon and than is 9-4pm on Sat. I don't want to do it, but Doctor pressured me. I think it will just stress me out more. I don't sleep much at night. I usually get up around 1am for potty break number one, 4 am for potty break number 2 and again at 5! Why within the hour? Don't ask me! I am hoping to be able to work from home once the baby is here. I actually got to test it out one day working in my office and look how wonderful it was! I had a little snuggle bug the whole time:
Jeff has been working more than ever and I really don't know how he does it. I complain a lot and I feel so guilty because I know he has got to be exhausted. The projects keep rolling in and so he continues to work two jobs! When we get some free time we really are at a loss because we have no idea what to do! Last Friday I had a doctors appt in the late afternoon. Jeff went with me and we were both off of work early and at the same time. Do you know what happened? We went home and fell asleep!!! This is where we watch our movies now:
We can't find a countertop because apparently it's going to have to be custom sized. I didn't know that so we still have to finish the wet bar area, but I have to say the theater room is pretty fun. The sound and picture is awesome. here's another picture of Rowdy to brighten your day:

My Little Tired Guy

This is what happens when Jeff lies down. I don't know how to keep him from falling asleep! What happens when he falls asleep? I get so bored I take pictures of him. . . . while he's asleep. These are all taken on separate occasions. See if you can spot the dog in each picture. ;)

I never wanted to do this. Still wonder how it happened. Probably won't do it again. But at least I can laugh about it.

Update

I had a feeling. . . I let all the naysayers cause me to doubt, but deep inside I already knew we were having a girl. Did I fist pump and say 'I knew it!' when she told us. . . .yes I did.

I am so excited for the next few months and spending time with family and spoiling the first baby for our next generation. . . . I LOVE YOU FAMILY!

Welcome Stella!

Baby Adams 18 weeks.

Jeff calls it the Alfred Hitchcock picture. ; )

Jeff makes me laugh

I was cleaning up my blog and deleting drafts. I always start to make posts, but never finish them so I have a ton of drafts. I found one that was never posted and had to share it because this is still how Jeff is. This was four years ago in the early winter/fall.

On Saturday Jeff and I awoke to the snow (LOVE IT) We went and got hot chocolate and then I forced him to go through our closet with me. Needless to say we got into some MINOR arguments.

Jeffrey has about sixty (may have exaggerated) shirts that have no purpose other than taking up much needed space in our main closet. When I showed him the black shirt with an outdated curious george on the front he stated 'it has sentimental value' and then I pulled out the sleeveless YES SLEEVELESS t-shirt and he said 'I worked out in that on my mission'. Next came another t-shirt with some logo for a company no one has ever heard of and he replies 'painting shirt'.

THESE WERE THE ONLY REASONS HE HAD FOR KEEPING ALL THESE SHIRTS AS WE WENT THROUGH THEM ONE BY ONE:

SENTIMENTAL VALUE
PAINTING SHIRT
SENTIMENTAL VALUE
PAINTING SHIRT.

I am sure that now that it has been three more years, he has still retained all the shirts. I am going to go home and see if I can find the Curious George one. Ü
