I'm bored
It's 10:52 on friday evening
I'm at my laptop, lonely and seething.
Jeff's playing Nintendo he got a new game.
I doubt right now he remembers my name.
It's so cold I can't feel my nose.
It's even effecting all ten of my toes.
I could put on socks, but they drive me insane.
More than Jeffrey playing his game.
Wait i here something coming up the stairs.
Oh. . it's a bathroom break. Was that too much to share?
I'm certain that Jeff will be there all night.
While I'm up here alone shivering with all my might.
I need a foot warmer and i have just the item.
Nibbler will warm my toes, but Rowdy will bite them.
So I shove little Nib to the end of the bed
By morning I'm sure she'll be on top of my head.
When will it snow? I need a good storm.
Odd to hear that from a person who can't get warm.
Jeff's in the kitchen, getting a snack.
Wait I think he's coming back.
Gosh he's a tease he went in to the office.
Nothing rhymes with office.
That's three different rooms all over our home.
He's ventured without figuring out I'm alone.
Okay, now he's outside, why is he out there?
I'll never figure him out I swear.
Back down to the basement for more Nintendo playing.
I'm a little annoyed can you get what I'm saying.
No I am kidding I just want to have some fun.
As for this poem I think I am done.

Gobble Gobble
Well this weekend has been awesome. After a great turkey dinner at Jeff's and a movie night with my family on Thursday we had a last minute trip to the cabin where we were told there was no snow. . . . hmmmmmmmmm.

My famous turkeys that are only pretty to look, not good to eat.

OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

Mom trying to get warm by the stove.

Dad getting tough with the chainsaw.

Autumn getting cranky

The helmets not only keeping me safe, but warm too!

Right. . . . I got older.
November 2, 1983 Heidi Dawn Adams was born 7 lbs and something ounces. (I'm just trying to sound dramatic) in West Jordan Utah. I was bald until I was three. I went to Westland Elementary and had a crush on the same boy for all six years at Elementary School. I started playing Softball in fifth grade. I went to Joel P. Jensen Middle School. It was then that I developed a new crush for the next three years. In seventh and Eighth grade I was a wallflower and probably no one knew me until ninth grade when I tried out for the West Jordan High School Softball team. Sophomore year I inherited Bumble, the yellow POS tracker that I still love and cherish. At Seventeen Bumble died and I did nothing but ball and dances and dated. Senior year I spent half my time at the Tech Center where I was introduced to Digital Editing. I graduated and went to UVSC (now UVU). My first year I made MANY MANY important friendships that influenced me in altering ways. I would just like to note a few: Christy-Gray my married lady with a baby (now two), Brother Kieran Reilly (to be spoken in a british accent), Bethany Bird (we go way back), Brandon McClelland (introduced me to South Park), Tyler Jackman (no relation to Hugh, no matter what he says!)
Then I had a second year of Orem which has yet to be beaten. I will never forget the friendships developed in this year for they will always be MY BOYS JohnKyleMattWade!
Unfortunately all good things must come to an end for the boys headed out to fullfill their destinies. They served missions and I. . . . I met Jeff. He was the perfect match for me. Everything he said and did was exactly what I had been looking for and I knew it was time. I married him in 2004. I worked and Jeff went to school. He finished two years later and we bought a house in Murray which then spawned a spending frenzy. We bought two dogs, a truck, a four wheeler, a big screen television, four nintendo systems and all the editing software requried for me to start my own editing business. I have a full time job and do weddings on the side. I love to edit and make movies. I believe some are even posted on this blog, but the whole reason for this post was to relive the past 25 years. I can't believe I have only been around that long and I have at least another 25 more to go, (or so I hope) after that I don't really care.

Sunday Softball!
Sunday Jeff and I went to the parents house and gathered the neighbors for a friendly game of softball. It was AWESOME! It felt so good to play again and it also felt good to know that after three years without playing I kind of still have some skills. I especially enjoyed the amount of soreness I felt after even though Jeffrey had to help me up the stairs a few times. But it was excellent and I got a few pics.

This is Kendra, she's 8 years old and awesome at softball. She's also the youngest of the family we like to call the New Generation of Hagen's. She comes from a family of four girls all blonde and all playing softball. Sound familiar?

I tried to get everyone in this pic, sorry if I didn't!
(From left to right ) Autumn, My Dad, Amanda (second in the Hagen's New Generation) Jason and Amber. Kendra, Debra, Brittany (Third in the Hagen's New Generation) and last but certainly not least my lover, The Jeff.

Debra is the wonderful and amazing mother of the New Generation. She is an awesome ball player too! My favorite part of the game is when Debra was covering third and My mom was on the opposite team running to the base. My mom dove and Debra caught the ball trying to tag her out. It was like watching a couple of pro's! I guess that's what happens when you watch years and years of ball.

And here is Amber, the eldest of the New Generation. She and her boyfriend came and were on opposite teams. They're such a cute couple!

Fun Halloween Stuff!
For Halloween I saw a lot of cute ideas for fun halloween treats. I spent four hours baking thursday night and brought in a ton of stuff to work. It was more a selfish thing for me because it gave me an excuse to bake all those fun goodies.
This one is a goblin Jeff decorated and my boss took a pic for us!

Gotta love my crazy co-workers (I'm taking the picture)

Let me just tell you about my morning
After getting ready and ensuring I am going to be on time for once, I walk outside and think about how it's cold and I only have a short sleeve jacket on. I think 'hey, I work only two minutes away and I already locked the door' so I walk to my car, but I can't even turn my key because the lock is frozen. Using my big flabby muscles I force the key to the right and hear the crunch of the ice in the lock. I then lift the handle, but the door is frozen. I decide to try the other side of the car. Walking around the back of the acura I slip on a patch of ice and I am already so angry I kick a bunch of snow that causes a ton of freezing cold ice to blow back on my body. I sure wish at this time I had worn a coat. I push and shove on the passenger side door, but nothing happens.
A weaker woman may have gone back inside and asked her husband for some help, but I don't like to admit defeat. I used my hip and slammed into the driver's side door and heard some more crunching, lifting on the handle with all my might I feel it come loose so i slam it again with my hip. I'm sure the Gladys Kravitz's of the neighborhood got a kick out of my assualt on my own vehicle this morning.
Fortunately I have Success! I get the door open and put the key in to start warming it up. I grab the scraper and shut the door and begin chizzeling my car out of the ice. Seeing that this in itself is going to be quite a task I realize I was supposed to be to work five minutes ago. I decide I'll get the key out of the car and go and get some water to see if I can soften the ice.
You can guess what happened next. That stupid door was frozen solid! I banged on it with my hip, my fists, my three inch heels and nothing! I worked on it for another five minutes and then decided I had to get Jeff, but I couldn't unlock the house door because the keys were inside the car. So I knock and ring the doorbell and wait. . . . . nothing. I bang on it again and walk under the window 'jeff! JEFF!'
Nothing.
I tell you the profanities that flashed through my mind are not appropriate for this blog!
Finally I go back to the car and just as I slam my heel into the door I hear a scolding voice 'Heidi!'
It's Jeff poking his head out of the door obviously upset I'm kicking in the door of my car. He comes outside and I am very proud to admit that he too could not get this door open. He went around to the other side (slipping on the same patch of ice I did earlier) and unlocked the passenger side door. He got that side open and then shoved on the inside of the Driver's door and 'hallellua' it came open. It was exactly like Doc from back to the future when he opened the door to the Delorean, the door was solid ice. I hurry and hop in the car and give Jeff a quick kiss saying 'My hero'. (Yes I really did say that.)
He's getting into his truck as I flip the wiper blades on and try to leave, but then he starts scraping off my window.
'I'm late for work!' I yell annoyed.
'You can't see!' He yells back.
Well that's a just a risk I am willing to take. So I hunch over the steering wheel to see through the tiny hole that has thawed through the ice on the windshield. Luckily as I said before I only live two minutes away from work.
It was like driving from the inside of an ice cube. Maybe Jeff should let me call someone to repair the garage? You would think, but being a man he doesn't believe in paying someone to do something he could himself. This only results into problems. Hence the bathroom in the basement is STILL NOT DONE.
I'm sorry honey, but the day you married me no matter what happens, everything will always somehow come back to being your fault.
LOVE YOU JEFF!

After reviewing
my previous post I have realized the need to utilize the spell checker tool. I will do what I can. That is all.
I love Snow
There's an episode of Gilmore Girls where Lorelei talks about her relationship with snow. I only bring this up because I don't want anybody to think I stole this from that episode. I too, have a wonderful relationship with snow. (I was married in December, how appropriate is that?)
Last night I couldn't sleep because well, there's no nice way to put this. OBAMA SUCKS! He's fooled the entire country and now I have to put up with seeing his face for four years. Ulgh and Michelle's too. Oh well, I am going to try and get over it because this morning arising to the sound of his voice on my alarm (I won't make that mistake again) I looked outised to see that once again snow is there for me, it was so beautiful I didn't mind wiping my car off and being 15 minutes late for work. Snow you rock and I will forever love your goodness.
By the way this also means that the Holiday's are a coming. I fully intend to enjoy all that I can this holiday season, sleigh ride, sledding, fourwheeling, hooky-bobbing, snowmans, fireplaces, big sweaters and scarfs, and my most wonderful absolutle favorite. . . . THE TURKEY BOWL!

Random Pictures
Jeff and I don't have a still image digital camera so we don't ever get our picture taken. So when I find a new picture of me that I haven't seen ever I feel the need to post it. This is Jeff, my uncle Chris, myself and Dad at the cabin. I am so excited to go snowmobiling up there this winter, yee-ha!

Save the cheerleader. . . . .save the world!

If I could be any heroes character it would be Niki. Not because she's got an evil side to her, which is totally awesome, not because she threatened to put her heel through some guy's skull, (which is totally awesome), but simply for the sole purpose that I would kill to have a body like hers.
Jeff and I caved and rented the first season of Heroes last night. After about five long episodes Jeff couldn't do anymore. It frustrates him when there's so much plot and it doesn't go anywhere.
I'm excited because we found season two on Blu-ray for cheap-o! So I'm going to buy it. Only tonight is not another night of Heroes TONIGHT HAS BEEN RESERVED FOR THE HULK!

I love characters with a bad side to them, can you tell? HULK MAD! GRRRRRRR!

Yellow striped t-shirt

Monday or some day this week, no wait, it was Wed. No that can't be right. I don't know, one of these days this week Jeffrey was actually up the same time as myself. He's standing in the closet and asks where his yellow striped shirt is. I'm in the middle of brushing my teeth so as well as I possibly can I say the word 'bottom' and motion to the lower rack. Jeff continues to look on the top rack so I yell through toothpaste 'bottom. BOTTOM!' He then peruses through the clothes, but to no avail so I walk over and shift a few shirts over and after searching for a minute I find the yellow striped shirt and hand it to him. Sitting down to put on my shoes (I'm a multitasker) Jeff then puts the shirt back and says 'nah. I'm going to wear my green one'

Hunger Strike Results
Ladies and Gentlemen your attention please. . . . in result of my twenty hour hunger strike I am proud to announce the following accomplishments.
9/24/2008 - Jeff brought me a rose from our garden (flowers for no reason)
9/20/2008 - Jeffrey called and scheduled an appointment for our dog's to be groomed. (although I was the one that took them to the appointment, dropped them off, then picked them up and was told that Rowdy bit the lady. I was so embarrassed)
Okay, so two completed tasks may not seem like much, but to me that is tons of improvement. Please feel free to drown me in comments on my vast success.
I leave you with a quote that reminds me of Jeff.
"The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on"
OKAY. THIS IS AN ADDITION AFTER I ALREADY PUBLISHED THIS POST, BUT JEFF SENT THIS TO ME AND IT IS HILARIOUS!

A man is in stable condition after being stabbed by his wife this morning. Police say the two were arguing over a to-do list.
Police say this is a domestic dispute that went way too far. Now one person is in jail.
At 6:00 this morning, police responded to a domestic dispute call from a home near 3600 South and 700 East. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed in his upper torso with a steak knife.
Police say the man's wife, 27-year-old Jennifer Melvin, is the one who stabbed him after a confrontation about a to-do list she had created for him earlier that morning.
Gary Keller, with the South Salt Lake Police Department, said, "Some of these start with the craziest things. This began as just a regular squabble between husband and wife. She was making a list for him of things to do, and it escalated from there."
The victim was transported to an area hospital in serious but stable condition. He has since been released.
Police say this is not the first time they have responded to this address. In fact, they say they have responded to several domestic dispute calls between the couple in the past; however, this was the first one where one of the victims was stabbed.
Jennifer Melvin was arrested and booked on aggravated domestic assault charges. Police say those charges will be screened through the county attorney's office.
Police say there was evidence of physical contact between the couple prior to the stabbing, and they are looking into possible charges against him as well.
I DON'T THINK IT'S APPROPRIATE THAT THEY PAINT POOR JENNIFER IN A NEGATIVE LIGHT. IT'S GOOD TO SEE WOMEN FINALLY STANDING UP FOR THEIR TO DO LISTS!!!

HUNGER STRIKE!
As of Friday 9/19/2008 I will be on a hunger strike until the following requests have been fulfilled by my husband.
- Picture in living room hung (where I want it).
- Downstairs shower finished, meaning toilet installed, shower grouted, door installed and anything else hindering proper use of this particular facility.
- Baseboards painted.
- I want flowers! Delivered to me for no reason at all! (besides the hunger strike of course)
- The dog groomer called and scheduled for an appointment to trim Rowdy's furry butt.
- A date somewhere other than applebee's, chili's, mimi's cafe, the movies, bowling and/or miniature golf. (suggestion: a fancy place to possibly break my fast?)
(all requests are subject to change, especially when I go home today and remember the rest of the stuff Jeff has promised to do, but then decided to tear out the basement family room and create more mess that he will never finish)
All the above requests were given months prior to this date with the response that they would be completed. There were several reminders as well as nagging to ensure fullfillment of these tasks. (specific dates are available for legal purposes) However, as of today 9/18/2008 they are yet to be addressed. All family members involved in upcoming functions will please refrain from tempting me of birthday cake and other baked goods to support this cause!
ALSO, Jeffrey is not aware of this post, so tease him relentlessly and possibly we can get results TOGETHER!

TGIF
I absolutely loved Labor day weekend this year. Why you ask? Because of that freaking-awesome thunder storm. So I'll admitt Jeff and I were sleeping in and right before nine AM a clap of thunder rocked the upper wing of our house and practically shook Jeff and I out of bed. We realized the dog's were outside so hopping up we went to let them in all the while hearing the loud hail shatter against our house. We walked to the window and watched the crazy weather then hopped back in bed and fell asleep with our arms around one another.
That day we went to Heber for a BBQ with Jeff's family. We talked movies and made fun of Jeff so it was a lot of fun. Sunday we came home from church early then went to the care center for my G-ma's birthday where we discussed politics and of course Palin. SHE'S AWESOME!
Then all day Monday we worked on the house, I aboslutely loved it because it was like fall. I bought some fall decorations and put them up, I even bought halloween cookie cutters for next month. So last weekend was aboslutely perfect and I am so excited for this weekend and the chance to do it all over again, if only we could keep this great weather! Oh well, I'm still glad it's Frida

Dude. Where's my life?
I'm serious. I hate having responsibilities. Clean the house, wash the car, feed the dogs, clean up their poop, make Jeff dinner, edit videos, update website, grocery shopping. . . . . .
Then I sit back and thank the lord I have a house and a car and my dogs. . . . .and Jeff and the opportunity to do what I love and make money and to be able to afford groceries. Then comes another realization. . . that is MY LIFE!
I have an awesome, crazy, amazing, fantastic, beautiful, comical, meaningful life and its ROCKS!
So when responsibilities get me down I'm going to reverse my way of thinking and thank God for everything!
Dude. Life rocks.

KIDNEY STONES

Thursday August 7th, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache and went to work, but was finding it hard to concentrate so at about noon I told my co-worker I was taking my lunch and planned to go take some pepto or tums or anything that might help. An hour later I went back and unfortunately nothing was better, but I felt obligated to go back. When I got there another co-worker told me to go home because she could tell I didn't feel well. Around three PM I was laying on my back unable to move and bawling because I didn't know what to do. My dad came and took me to St. Marks emergency room where they gave me an IV and then I had a cat scan and X-rays. I had a kidney stone AND a kidney infection. Now this was Thursday and today is Tuesday, today is the first day I've felt well long enough to sit at the computer and write down the story. I woke up at seven this morning still having pains and popped another loratab, something that has been my friend throughout all of this. Kidney stones are so painful they say it's the only thing comparable to child birth, so if you think about it I've been in labor for five days. . . . .NOT COOL.

Dancing in the mirror EVERYBODY DOES IT!
For just two people Jeffrey and I have tons of clothes. I'm talking MOUNDS of clothes and whenever we do just around three loads of laundry I will take all the clean ones and pile them on the bed and start hanging them up. Most of the time when I do this I'll put in my MP3 player and jam to music while I fold and hang. Saturday during my usual routine a certain pop song came on and I can't help it, I love to dance! So I was returning from the closet after hanging up some clothes and singing when I passed by the mirror and did a booty shake and twirl to the music (you know you do it too) but at this time Jeffrey happened to walk in the bedroom. I swear this happens everytime!

Jeff's Birthday
As of 7-29 Jeffrey is now 27 years old. . . . . . and guess what he got for his birthday from his family. Transformer balloons and a transformer card.
The truth is that I would have bought a batman balloon, but it was WAY EXPENSIVE! So I got Transformers instead.
Jeff also got Rock Band a few weeks ago that was supposed to be his birthday present, but I got him two 12 packs of gatorade and a shaving mirror just so he would have something else on his special day.
We went to Mimi's Cafe with his family (I love that place!) and I know he just chose there because it was somewhere I liked.
When Jeff got home from work Patrice and I were hiding and jumped out with our party hats on and blowing noise makers. We bought balloons that you twist into shapes and Patrice was successful in making CHARLIE THE UNICORN. If you want to know what I am talking about, scroll to the very bottom of the blog. . . . . . . Charlie awaits you.

Kara and Bryan
Last Friday I filmed a wedding at the Salt Lake Temple. It was crazy busy and HOT!
They were running behind and I was standing in the sun waiting. I ended up drinking my full water bottle before they even came out, so not only was I dying of heat the whole time, but I kind of had to go to the bathroom. However, I didn't pay attention to any of that because I was having so much fun filming the bride and groom. Kara looked perfect, especially considering that if I were in her place my make up would have melted off in the first five minutes. Their video is posted on my wedding blog.

The legendary Frogs
Five years ago this month we made this at the cabin. You can tell which movies came out around that time because the soundtrack I use is from Star Wars and Signs.

Havasu Falls

Jeff, Heidi and Spence spent 9 hrs on the road and 11 miles walking just to get to this place. Was it worth it? Why don't you ask my leg?
No. Those air mattresses are not ours. We slept on the ground. Yes, that's my sleeping bag next to them.
Just an idea of what the hike was like .

We're up and running !
So, for the first time ever things are actually taking off. I have been doing videos for years now randomly and it's been enjoyable. Recently I had the opportunity to work with Jen Korth and we have decided to join forces! She's an excellent photographer and I am so excited at the prospect of more weddings and more chances to work with her.
So the website is supposed to be available for viewing soon. . .. . . problem is I not only have to edit my demo video's, create and post website, and work a full time job, but I have a house and a husband to take care of. Sometimes I wonder if we (women) made the right decision with our feminist movement. Who am I kidding? OF COURSE WE DID! ;)
